Can Your Family Host our NET Ministry Leaders?

Offering meaningful retreats is one effective way to have young people reflect on the gift of their faith and help them explore in age-appropriate ways where they are on their faith journey. As our 8th graders prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in April, the parish is offering a Confirmation retreat in March for our Confirmandi. This year, we have NET ministries facilitiating this retreat.

One of the terms of the agreement with Net Ministries is that the parish is responsible for housing the missionary team. If you are willing to be a host home for the missionary leaders, please email Elaine Lindia at elindia@stbenedict.com. Having missionaries in your home is a great way to support the work of your church and offering hospitality to young people who are giving a year of life in service to the church. It also makes for interesting company in your homes!

The parish is able to provide all meals for the team members here at the parish, but we do need help finding 3 families to host the members.

There will be 3 men and 5 women coming for the retreat. They need to be in groups no smaller than 2 people which means that we need a host home for the 3 men and 2 host homes for the women, one for 3, the other for 2.

The requirements are as follows:

Every team member has his or her own sleeping bag and mat, pillow, towel, and toiletries so floors, couches, or air mattresses work just fine. They will need access to a bathroom and shower.

The missionaries will need housing on the evenings of 3/24 and 3/25.

Ms. Gemo has housed NET Ministries missionaries in the past. Feel free to reach out to her if you have any questions. These young adults are living as disciples who trust in God to provide. Let’s support their trust.
