Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. This year, we will celebrate the entire weekend starting on Saturday September 17th. All those who serve as catechists, teachers, youth ministers will be called forth for a special blessing at the 5 pm Mass. In addition, we will include a "Back to School Blessing" for children/families, honoring the fact that parents are the first catechists.

Is God calling on you to be a catechist? The ministry of sharing your faith with our young people is truly a vocation. There is no better way to evangelize and carry on God’s mission in the world than serving as a catechist.

Do you have questions and want to learn more about the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults? There will be an information table available after all Masses next weekend where you can meet members of the RCIA team and ask any questions you may have.

The Religious Education office is looking for catechists or co-catechists to teach a group of children or teens on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.

It is finally time to register for this coming year’s Religious Education Program at Saint Ben’s! Our classes will be held on Sunday’s from 8:15 am - 9:45 am, or if you prefer on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm. Although we are still hoping to have 2 options for classes, please know that if the class counts are not sufficient, we may ask you to change to the other option. We will need to receive your registration form BEFORE September 1, 2022. Registering before September 1st will guarantee your child(ren) a place in a grade-level class and that he/she has a book for the first day of classes.

If you are interested in becoming Roman Catholic, know someone who is interested, or would like to complete your Catholic Sacraments, we will be beginning a process soon called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.
